Indoor Holiday Market 2.0

Last November, I attended the Indoor Holiday Market in Leavenworth, KS. It went fairly well, so I saw fit to return. The results this time were slightly different.

For starters, the entry fee went up this year (from $25 to $35). I barely covered it last time through 4 book sales, and my profit beyond that was largely generated by sales of other items. This time, I did not have any extra décor or nicknacks to sell, so I had to rely on the books alone (including the two titles released since last November). As such, I did not recoup my losses.

I do not think this can be explained by anything other than audience–as with many local events in my area, the crowd does not include many readers. So, while this is a fun little event in a rather cozy venue, I do not think I will be back next year.
