The Value of Blogging

Why keep a weblog? The answer to that will vary depending on who you ask, but at the end of the day, it can simply be helpful in so many ways, especially to us writers. Here I’ll discuss some common motivations for keeping a blog, but feel free to join in the comments with your own reasons below!

AnthroExpo 2026: The Comeback

Last weekend (Feb. 5-8), I attended my first event of the new year: AnthroExpo 2026 in Norman, OK. I once again vended in the Artist Alley portion of the convention, but the results were very different…Continue reading “AnthroExpo 2026: The Comeback”

Plans for February

January was a month of constant motion, yet still felt long somehow. Progress was made: a revised outline to an old story was completed, I came up with outlines for a few more, and I made some editing progress as well. Unfortunately, there was no translation or production of new material, but on the positive side, I finally got to see the long-awaited cover art for Sauragia 3! It looks pretty cool.

February will be shorter but just as packed. Not only will I be returning to Anthro Expo to man the Bluedrake Books booth this weekend (hopefully I’ll see some of you there!) and taking care of a lot of personal business, but I also have some more outlining to do, some maps to draw, and some actual rough drafts to put to paper! I also have a list of 52 blog ideas, so beginning next Thursday, I am going to challenge myself to actually make at least one post a week for the next year! We’ll see how that goes, but one thing is clear: the time for simply planning is over. It is time to begin!

Guest Post: The Renewal Blueprint: How to Kickstart Your Year with Energy, Focus, and Purpose

Sorry for the long delay in creating a first post for the year, but things came up in December that ate up most of my time and attention. So, the first post of this year will once again be by Christopher Haymon of Adulting Digest. This time, he will be discussing strategies for long-term growth that you can begin implementing right away to set a productive rhythm for yourself throughout this (relatively) new year!

Plans for January

It’s been quite a bumpy ride, but 2026 is finally here, and I’ve got big plans as always. The only difference is that this year, I should actually have the time to pursue them!

I will get started right away here in January with several projects. There is the never-ending Knights of Aralia series to continue working on, of course. And I will be doing a major rewrite of a project that’s always been near and dear to me as well. I may also play around with some translation work, but my main focus right now is on wrapping up old projects and producing new material. I am hopeful for the new year, but things are only going to happen if I get down to business and make them!

Happy New Year!

Get this year started right by making your resolution and sticking to it! Get to work on making your dreams a reality–or spend the day getting past that the consequences of last night’s excitement, if you prefer. Either way, be sure to return next week for my first proper post of 2026!

2025: A Year in Review

Greetings, and welcome to my final post of 2025! In this I will again be taking a look at my vending experiences throughout the year (I made no less than 12 this time!), but also just a general look at how things have come along and where they might be headed.Continue reading “2025: A Year in Review”
