Fan Expo Coming Up!

Greetings all! As some of you may be aware, I’ll be vending behind the Bluedrake Books table in the Artist Alley at Fan Expo in Dallas, TX this weekend (Booth A711, to be precise). If you happen to be in the area, I invite you to come on in and see all the amazing shows, exhibits, and guests they’ve got lined up. And of course, to swing by my booth while you’re at it. I’ve never been to an event quite like this, so I’m not entirely sure what to expect, but I know it’s going to be massive! I can’t wait, and I hope to see some of you there!

Keeping a Dream Journal

The world of dreams. It’s a mysterious, fascinating place that we often go, yet often do not remember visiting. Is it merely our mind sorting out the experiences of the day or something else beyond? Whatever the case, for those of us fortunate enough to remember, it can be a source of endless inspiration…as well as incentive for us sleep-deprived creatives to get to bed on time!Continue reading “Keeping a Dream Journal”

Guest Post: How to Keep the Love of Learning Alive in Your Child

This week , I have yet another post by Christopher Haymon of adultingdigest.com. This is a bit of a different subject than what I usually publish on this blog, but I thought it a very important one. And so, here is his take on how to make learning a lifelong obsession for kids.Continue reading “Guest Post: How to Keep the Love of Learning Alive in Your Child”

Harry’s Hay Days…Not Mine

Last Saturday, I vended at my first outdoor event of the year (and yes: my first outdoor event since the disasters of October): Harry’s Hay Days in Grandview, Missouri. It was not a disaster, but nor did it compare to the glowing success of my first street fair a year ago.Continue reading “Harry’s Hay Days…Not Mine”

Plans for May

This April was about what I expected after the high point that was March. The first week was consumed with preparations for my excursion to TFF, the second week with the trip itself, and the last couple trying to reorganize myself.

May is going to be one heck of a comeback–at least if I have anything to say about it. There’s a lot of reading and writing to be done, including some editing/review work on the Knights series, continued historical research for another project, and perhaps some more translation work if there’s time. Might even get started on a rough draft or two, but either way, I will continue my so far 4-month streak of writing and submitting magazine articles.

I will also be making two live appearances this month, so mark your calendars: Harry’s Hay Days this Saturday, May 3rd and Fan Expo Dallas May 30th-June 1st. Looking forward to all of it!

When Inspiration Strikes

We all know the feeling. We could be going about our daily lives, doing nothing out of the ordinary when suddenly it happens. What triggers it could be any number of things: something we hear on the radio, a dream, or simply the workings of our subconscious mind. Whatever the cause, inspiration can strike anywhere anytime, and it’s up to us as writers to be prepared when it does.Continue reading “When Inspiration Strikes”

Return to Dallas: TFF 2025

Last weekend, I returned to Texas Furry Fiesta, once again entering the Artist Alley lottery on a day by day basis, since I was once again not accepted ahead of time. This was my first time ever coming back to a venue I have sold at before, which makes for some interesting comparisons.Continue reading “Return to Dallas: TFF 2025”
