Just a quick reminder to everybody that I’ll be at the first annual Christmas in July vendor fair in Grandview, MO this weekend. All info is on the flyer, including the vendor list (I’m listed under my publisher’s name). Hope to aee some of you there!

French Literary Terms
Several years ago I made a post on Latin literary terms. But we also borrow heavily from other languages when referring to particular phenomena or techniques, especially French. So, what better way to mark this Bastille Day than to list a few of the more common ones collected from various sources?
Happy Independence Day!
Happy 248th birthday to the United States of America! So close to that 250 mark, and yet so far! Have a safe, fun 4th of July, all, and I’ll see you with my first substantial post of this month next week!
Summer E-Book Sale!
Forgot to mention it before, but Bluedrake Books is running a 50% off sale for the month of July on all its e-books. That means, if you purchase direct from me, my publisher, or select retailers, you can get any or all of my titles for half off this month only! Sounds like a greatContinue reading “Summer E-Book Sale!”
Plans for July
June was a busy month, though with what at times I couldn’t say. It started off with my setup Carry Nation Days and ended in a mad dash to prepare things for the upcoming month of July, which was mostly successful. July will be a grand month, I can just feel it. Once again KnightsContinue reading “Plans for July”
Handling Criticism

Happy Father’s Day!
For all you hard-working dads out there, thanks for everything you do. Hopefully you can find some time out to do the things you love today: you’ve earned it. Keep up the good work!
Christmas in July
This is just an announcement that I will have a booth at another local event, this time in Grandview, Missouri. It is the first annual Christmas in July, and will be occurring on Friday, July 19th and Saturday, July 20th at the Arrington Event Center in Grandview. This event is free to attend, and offersContinue reading “Christmas in July”
Vending at a Street Fair
This weekend, I attempted my first ever street fair, and I am happy to say it was a surprising success! I confess, I underestimated the literary interest of the audience to which I was selling, which made what was essentially a single-day event (the three hours Friday evening were largely rained out) somewhat profitable. But,Continue reading “Vending at a Street Fair”
Plans for June
May was every bit the full month I had predicted. Not only was progress made on several manuscripts, but I took an actual week’s vacation and attended Belton, Missouri’s first annual Carry A. Nation Days event (where I will still be until 8:00 tonight!). June will probably be a quieter month by comparison, but preparationsContinue reading “Plans for June”
